Giants,Great Fires and Gee Gees

SJF this week has again been very busy.

Year 4 had an all day workshop during which they built the most amazing sculpture inspired by The Iron Giant by Ted Hughes. It is truly incredible and quite amazing that it is constructed from Newspaper.

Year 2 showcased everything they have been learning in History at their Celebration Assembly on Friday. They shared with everyone the reasons for the Great Fire of London, the lessons learnt from it and finished with a fabulous rendition of London's Burning. Year 2 have obviously enjoyed this topic and have definitely learnt so much. Thank you to Miss Carriere and Year 2 for your wonderful assembly.

On Friday Night the PTA held a fantastic and fun Race Night. The highlight of the evening was the Governors Auction stakes at which horses named after the teachers were auctioned to the highest bidder. It certainly showed how competitive some of the teachers and parents can be. Well done to our wonderful PTA for organising this event and all the parents and friends who came along or donated to or supported this night.
