School Facilities

Built in 1965, St John Fisher is a single storey building with easy access.  The outdoor facilities consists of a large playing field, a Foundation Stage/Key Stage 1 playground and a Key Stage 2 playground. 

The school has a large assembly hall that is used for worship, PE and music.A separate dining room extends from the school entrance and library.  The latter was opened in 1990 by Cardinal Hume, as part of the school’s Silver Jubilee celebrations.

St John Fisher is a one form entry primary school catering for children in the four to eleven range. Children are grouped in each of the seven classes Year Reception to Year 6 according to age.

            Year Reception - Foundation Stage
            Year 1 and 2 - Key Stage 1
            Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 - Key Stage 2

Teaching is on a class basis. Whole class/group and individual teaching takes place within the classroom situation. Some teaching takes place on occasions with combined age groups appropriate to particular activities.

In addition to the National Curriculum there are a wide range of Extra Curricular activities offered by the school.
