Birthday Books
As a school, we are always encouraging our pupils to eat a healthy diet. As part of this aim, children will no longer be allowed to bring sweets or chocolate into school on their birthdays. This is something many other schools have had in place for some time. It also makes it easier for teachers to ensure no child is given any food that they might be allergic to.
As an alternative, children are invited to donate a book to our school library.
Your child can choose a book from our wish lists below:
All donated books will have a sticker placed inside letting everyone know who donated the book. Please note that it is not compulsory to donate a book when it is your child’s birthday.
Enjoying books and learning to become a fluent reader is one of the most important gifts you can give to a child. Please continue to listen to your children read on a regular basis and enjoy sharing stories with them. They will always remember reading their favourite books as a child. Can you remember yours?
