School Chaplaincy Team

Our Chaplaincy Team is made up of Year Six volunteers. They lead liturgies, spiritual reflections and acts of worship. They also take an active role in our charitable work, raising funds for projects locally and internationally.

CCS Carol Service and Advent

Our team enjoyed a day trip to Westminster Cathedral to participate in the Catholic Children's Society carol service. They sang well and met Clover the donkey at the end! We also had time to visit several side chapels after the service, and the children lit a votive candle each and said a prayer.

In December, the team prepared an Act of Worship for Advent and visited each class to lead them in prayer.

Chaplaincy Retreat Day

Our new team had a brilliant day on retreat at St Saviour's parish hall. They had the opportunity to meet Chaplaincy Teams from other primary schools in ASCAT. A packed schedule included games, songs and team activities, along with time for prayer and reflection. on their shared mission. The day ended with Mass during which the children were commissioned and received certificates. Thank you to Deacon Liam and Annabel for organising this special day for our pupils.

Act of Worship

Our team have been busy visiting classes this week to share an Act of Worship and information about our fundraiser for Karibu Nyumbani, the children's orphanage we support in Tanzania. They prepared this themselves and split into pairs to deliver their message, enabling all pupils to understand why we are raising funds.

Chaplaincy Team 2023-2024

Introducing our new school chaplains! We are delighted they will be taking an active role in developing the prayer life and mission of our school. They have already begun work on a fundraiser for Karibu Nyumbani, the children's orphanage we support in Tanzania.

Chaplaincy Team 2022-2023

Our new Chaplaincy Team members received a blessing from Father Andrew during our Mass for the new school year. They were delighted to receive their badges too!

The children took the lead in preparing our Harvest Assembly. They researched the work of CAFOD and shared their presentation, following the success of our Brighten Up Harvest fundraising. The team also contributed with readings and prayers.

Chaplaincy Team 2021-2022

Members of our Chaplaincy Team visited Tara's Retreat care home to entertain residents with their poetry. An enjoyable morning was had by all!
