Our Learning Experiences

Our School Trip to Windsor Castle:  We had a fantastic school trip to Windsor Castle.  We started our day with a long coach journey, followed by snack and identifying features of a castle, playing Miss Feeney's eye spy quiz.  We enjoyed watching the changing of the guards and pretending we were guards, marching after them.  After lunch, we explored the state rooms, we spotted a lot of armour, swords and trinkets.  We enjoyed identifying the coat of arms in Saint George's Hall and finding the Kings and Prince Williams. We finished our day by watching the changing of the guards in the courtyard.

Science Week: What a busy week! We enjoyed being 'Plant Detectives' as part of Science week.  We took part in an investigation and explored the playground to find plants growing in unusual places. We then marked these on a map and discussed how they started to grow there.

World Book Day: We had a classroom full of our favourite book characters on World Book Day!  We enjoyed talking about the character we dressed as and why we like them.  We also took part in the St John Fisher book swap, we can't wait to read our new books!

RE: We have been learning all about the festival of Mardi Gras.  We enjoyed completing some shared writing and making our very own masks.

English: We have been exploring the story 'Frog and the Stranger' by Max Velthuijis.  We have been thinking about the types of sentences we see in stories.  We have been continuing to work on sentence structure and thinking about what we can add to sentences to make them even better!

Shared Reading: We have enjoyed exploring lots of new texts in our shared reading sessions.  We particularly enjoyed reading an extract from Beegu.  The book was then put in the book corner to enjoy during our cosy reading sessions.

Wellbeing: We have enjoyed thinking about what we can do to look after our wellbeing. We have been finding different ways of moving and giving our endorphins a kick start! We have also been thinking about ways in which we can stay safe online.
