WELCOME TO YEAR 5!
Dear Year 5 families,
Welcome to Year 5! I am very excited to be working with you and teaching your children in the autumn term. The year 5 curriculum has many engaging topics and I look forward to delving into these together.
I have been teaching for over 20 years, across years 1 to 7. I really enjoy the teaching profession and have a particular passion for the subjects of mathematics and reading. I believe that reading is the most valuable skill to gain, as it serves as a passport to all other areas of learning. In addition to this, I also understand that every person is an individual, and therefore thinks and learns differently. It is part of my job to help each pupil grow as a learner and as a person of good character.
I hope you have a wonderful summer break and I look forward to seeing you all on the 2nd September.
The Alban Arena 'Rainforest Performance', with St Albans Primary Music Association, is on Monday 25th March at 7pm. The Year 5 class will be singing as part of the choir at this event.
As well as rehearsing during their Music lessons, they will have the following rehearsals:
Below are the lyrics and some youtube links to most of the songs help children rehearse. These are different to the rehearsal tracks we are using but will help to learn the tune.
